Anyone know any restuarants in the area that serve Cream Chipped beef? The wife loves the stuff and would like to find a restaurant that serves it for breakfast.

Cream chipped beef over fresh biscuts, absolutely my favorite!

I used to beg my mom and grandmother to make it. Oh, I can taste it now, mmm.

Since my granddad was in the Navy we also used the Navy term S.O.S (sh*t on a shingle).

REALLY easy to make:

Just make a basic white sauce and add chopped up bits of the Land O Lakes thin sliced beef (usually the stuff that is like 50 cents a pack. Heat thru, serve over toast or biscuits...

CHEAP meal.

A few things that I prayed for and promised my self if I ever got out of the Army:

1) Never to shine my shoes again. Broke the promise.
2) Never to spend another day in Fayettville NC again. Broke the promise.
3) Never to eat Chipped Beef again. DID NOT BREAK THE PROMISE!!!!!!

I wish I knew! I can't remember the last time I had it. There is a new "diner" in Ballantyne but I can't remember the name of it. Maybe they have it.

Here's what I do . . .

Stouffer's has nice chipped beef/sauce. Toast some bread, fix eggs however you like 'em, pop Stouffer's in microwave, pour on top of toast stacked w/ eggs . . . a little cherry preserves on the side . . . hot cup of coffee . . . maybe some fresh melon . . . that's one of my favorite breakfasts on the weekend.

Stouffer's gets the job done much the same way Mrs. T's Pierogies do. Better than nothing but still nothing like a real dish of the stuff.

Hang on, John! Simple case of Post Traumatic Chipped Beef Disorder. We can talk you down. Simple de-sensitization needed. Just order a big ole round of SOS and stare it down . . . b/f you know it - no more PTCBD. You can do it, man! I have faith in you!
