For Pediatricians I highly recommend Charlotte Pediatric Clinic. They have 3 locations, including one in South Charlotte/Pineville. There are several pediatricians and 3 midlevels, and they rotate at the various sites. It's usually easy to get seen on the same day, as long as you're flexible about who you'll see. They also have after-hours in the evenings and weekends for emergency visits. If you call after-hours, a triage nurse will assess your child's symptoms and determine how soon your child should be seen, or if you should go to ER. We've just about seen all the different pediatricians and mid-levels with my two toddlers, and they all have been GREAT. Of course, I prefer some personalities over others, but I do trust that any of them would provide excellent care no matter what the circumstances are. They also work incredibly well together, which is a rare thing to find in a group practice. The nursing staff is also great, and they've been helpful when I wasn't sure if I was just being overanxious, or if the kids really needed to see a doctor. They're quick to get back to you too. If you prefer to see the same pediatrician each time you visit, that's okay too - you just have to familiarize yourself with their schedules and locations.

For Pediatric Dentists, there's Dr. Stephanie Chen. We've not seen her yet, but a few of the pediatricians from Charlotte Peds take their kids to her and I have heard from other parents that she's awesome. There is also a brand new pediatric dentistry practice off Hwy 49, south of Carowinds Boulevard. I think they're called Young and Polite DDS, but I don't know very much about them.

For Adult Dentistry, we like Armstrong and Eshleman/Charlotte Dentistry - they're on Providence Road, towards the Presbyterian Main Hospital in Uptown Charlotte. They've got lots of dentists and 15+ hygienists so you're not waiting forever to get seen. They're also available for emergency care and they're open on Saturdays (although those appointments are usually booked way out). They've got state-of-the-art equipment and everything always looks clean and organized.

For Obstetrics/Gynecology, I go to Eastover Ob-Gyn. They have offices at the University and Arboretum areas, Morehead Medical Plaza by Carolinas Medical Center-Main, and in Indian Trail. I was a total high-risk ob patient and my last pregnancy had potential for major complications during/after delivery. Dr. Lucas was aware of these complications and we discussed the possiblities, but he never had me in a state of panic/anxiety because he was prepared for the worst-case scenario. Needless to say, we did have the worst-case scenario but he took EXCELLENT care of me and my daughter, and I'm probably very fortunate to be alive today. I also like Dr. Kalich and the nurse practitioner Ann Osbourne. I haven't seen the others but a few of my friends go to Eastover and are pleased with their doctors.

For Family Practice, I see Dr. Marc Lewin at Carmel Family Practice (near Pineville). He is WONDERFUL!! He LISTENS. He always discusses possiblities and my options. He is also very genuinely interested in the well-being of his patients and actually is excited when something is "fixed" or controlled. There are other physicians at Carmel who are good, but Dr. Lewin is my absolute favorite. Carmel FP also has evening and weekend hours for urgent visits but these visits usually require appointments.

Anyway, good luck! Hope these recommendations work for you!

I highly recommend Kids First in Ballantyne, my wife is neurotic, and was recommended by a neighbor, Dr. Sameral practice is now accepting new patients, there was a period where my other neighbor wanted to go but could not, and now they are going too, and love them!

My doctor is Dr. Collins in Waxhaw, the practice is Waxhaw Family Physicians, I am Diabetic, and that is part of there specialties too.
