They have been talking about that for years. I believe it is now actually supposed to happen but there is no given time line as of yet.

Up to $800 for a 2 br and within city limits. The closer to Uptown the better. I'm considering Plaza Midwood, Villa Heights. Any other suggestions would be highly appreciated.

The Harris Teeter was approved at a Huntersville town council meeting in February. Two sites were considered: the Tanners Creek site and the Hambright site. The Tanner's Creek site was shot down, the Hambright site approved. Construction will likely begin in the fall. At tonight's town council meeting the town board will approve work to begin by consultants on drafting a plan for development of Beatties Ford from Mt. Holly- Huntersville Rd to Hwy 73, including the integration of Latta Village, where the Harris Teeter will be. The developers of Latta Village are giving $20k toward the consultants' project. The consultants' work should be completed by Aug 6, opening the way for fall construction of Latta Village.

As far as the OP's question on renting: You can find something in a much nicer area than the Charlotte side of Beatties Ford for $800/month. Heck, with all the great specials, you can get a great deal. When my friend moved to town, she got a 2 BR apt at SouthPark for $700 thanks to a special. Since it seems you prefer urban living, try Fourth Ward Square, Camden Southend Square...I'm sure others have suggestions as well.
