Anyone familiar with Almond Glen? It's an Eastwood development near Carolina Place Mall, just over the SC border. My husband and I really like the floor plans but were curious what other peoples' experiences were with building and living there.

I have been to the community on several occasions to see different floorplans. The community seems very nice just a little out of my price range and well as too far out for my taste. We are currently building with Eastwood in a different community and so far have had no problems whatsoever. I am about to have a pre-drywall inspection done by a independent contractor and he has already said that his experience is that Eastwood builds a solid home.

My wife and I have lived in the community for about a year, and we are both very happy here. The location is great because it's 5 minutes from everything (the mall, lots of stores, restaurants), but you get the feeling that you are far away since it's tucked back in the woods. The traffic around the mall is a bit crazy, but that's the price you pay for convenience. The community is really moving along, and that is definitely something to say because a lot of other developments have stagnated due to the economy. Almond Glen is Eastwood's baby, and they want to ensure this project gets finished. I think they just recently opened phase 2 of development.

Overall, we are very pleased with the quality of workmanship and have had very little issues that were taken care of by the builder. The people I have met so far have been very friendly (lots of families with little ones), and the pool (while tiny) is nice in the summer.

My only complaint would be we were not happy with our sales person or the person in charge of building. If you message me privately, I can give more specifics. The process itself was a pain at times, but overall we love our home.

Another note: most of the people I have met here are transplants from the NE (PA, Ohio, NY, NJ). I haven't actually met many people originally from this area. Just an FYI. This may be a common thing in the Charlotte area in general, however.

I would also love some more info on Eastwood... so far I can't find anything bad about them.

I just wanted to add that I have family building in home in Eastwood right now and although there have been a few bumps (minor) along the way, Eastwood has been nothing but helpful and very easy to work with and eager to satisfy their customer. Closing should be in the next week or so.....

My wife and I moved to the community this past May after looking at several places. The location was ideal for us and Eastwood went above and beyond to satisfy us throughout the construction process. The neighborhood itself is quiet and very family friendly (our little guy just turned 3). I'm sure you will be happy with them.
