So you do have the mush recipe? If not, I can post it here!

Oh - Sophia - I told the manager at Harris Teeter to get with it and get the Quaker Cornmeal! It is really the best stuff out there, unless I can get the old fashioned stoneground stuff. I get that when I go to Boone - from Mast Store. But for consistency, you cannot beat Quaker (and you must agree with me since you use it, LOL!)

I know what you mean about the cornbread recipe. I just like it for when I want cornbread that's less sweet than Jiffy.

Honestly, I've never eaten mush. I make it & refrigerate it to make fried mush.
What most people don't realize is that mush is really polenta. So frying it makes total sense to me.

What I rarely have anymore is hominy. Anyone else like hominy?

I have it, Ani, but thanks for the offer.

LOL, I'm used to a choice of Quaker or Hodgson's.

Has anyone seen a Celeste Frozen Pizza in any store?

http://www.celestepizza.com/products.html

It used to be there everywhere in Safeway, Giant and Grand Mart in N.Virginia area.. Giant most times used to have $1 for each personal sized frozen Celeste..

Havent been able to find it in HT, FoodLion, Walmart, Trader Joes... and a couple more places that I looked..

Last week Herr's potato chips showed up in Ingles. 3 flavors appear to be new, but they also are selling the Heinz Ketchup flavored potato chips.

I know it's not particularly convenient for most people. but it's closer than wherever you last bought Herr's.

Sunny, one of the new flavors that I found in Ingles is Baby Back Ribs. (& they are the ripple cut) These are all the 8 oz bags. I don't know if they're test marketing. These are the bags that normally sell for $3.59 & there is no price printed on the bag & Ingles is selling them for $2. They showed up last week, & this week they seem to have more. I don't know if they are in Dallas, but they are in Kings Mountain.

I like Herrs but not the ketchup chips. Yuck. That is about as bad as the pickle potato chips.

This Ingles place seems to have a lot of stuff other places don't.

I mentioned the ketchup chips specifically because they were mentioned in another older thread, & they've been around for quite a while.

I can't say for certain, but it seems that Ingles carries a lot that no one else carries. I live 3 miles from the Kings Mountain supermarket & therefore that's my base for groceries. I've found items at Compare Food & Lowes foods that Ingles doesn't have. I regularly shop at Aldi, & they are nearly identical to South Jersey, as far as stocked items.

I don't shop at Food Lion, because the 2 stores in town are horrible. (I've been in them & tried) Harris Teeter pulled out of town & all but one of their stores in the surrounding towns look small, old, & run down to me. I just don't see a point in going to the one inconveniently located store, when I've found enough that I'm happy.

I do mention when I find things at Ingles on the theory that if someone wants an item bad enough, they would rather drive 20-40 miles than several hundred miles to go to where they previously bought the item. Especially since the stop can be combined with a daytrip.

The Food Lion near where I live stinks to high heaven so I will never buy anything there.

Does Ingles have Tastycakes?
