For anyone that might be traveling, you'll want to avoid I77 North at Exit 4.

I was just sitting in a long backup due to an accident. It took me 45 minutes to get from Rock Hill back to my office on Tyvola.

NCDOT: Travel Information

Mecklenburg County, In Charlotte
I-77, Mile Marker4 , Heading North
Near Nations Ford Rd
2 of 3 lanes closed.
Expected Impact to traffic is High
Vehicle Accident: Lanes Closed
Accident with injuries blocking the 2 left lanes.

Thought I'd post in case anyone is planning on getting away for the weekend.

Check this site out Charlotte Traffic Report (http://www.beatthetraffic.com/traffic/map.aspx?regionid=53&viewname=Charlotte - broken link)

It shows you the freeway speeds in real time. I used this all the time when I lived in Los Angeles. I don't use it here in Charlotte too much because the traffic here is nothing compared to LA. You can check it out if you like.

Looks like a good resource. I remember living in LA and waiting for the Sig Alert report before I left for work in the morning. Much easier to look this stuff up on the Internet.
