It cost us WAY more than both those figures! We had a 6000 sq ft house tho....

We used Morse Van Lines. They were pretty good. Took forever to get our check for the stuff that got damaged, but we did get it.

They need to come out and try to determine the weight of the items to give you an estimate. I used both Allied and United for a two bedroom apartment. United was only $2,400 from Chicago to Charlotte and I had no issues at all. Allied was good too but they lost one of my boxes and scratched a few things.

Oh- do I have an awesome mover for you. Tristate movers moved us to Charlotte & is moving us back north after three years. They were great, reliable, honest, accomodating. Everything arrived safely.

i don't know from what part of New York you are coming from. I moved four months ago from westchester county and called every company in the book. Finally we rented a Penske truck and did it ourselves. The total cost was $ 500. So we saved tons of money.
