I love thunderstorms and I have been disappointed almost daily lately because of the forcasts. Besides, I keep putting off boating/fishing because the storms don't hit this part of the county. I know that when they predict a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms that it means that there is a 50 percent chance that someone in the viewing area will get one and they are usually correct. Unfortunately, I am missed on a regular basis.
Ha!!! I was wondering the same thing. I thought we were supposed to get all this rain on Thursday. The weather people on TV are really the worst, so I'm not surprised.
Seems that any decent rainfall comes from developed storms that form south of us and are bolstered by higher heat and humidity. And you need a very large and well developed storm from the west for us to get any measurable rain. Those mountains break up any medium sized storms and they fizzle out before reaching us. I think that when a weatherperson reports a 50% chance of rain he/she is talking about a pop up storm.

Yea, any storms that are west of the mountains seem to have almost no chance of staying intact. I wouldn't mind this forecast if some parts of the area were getting rain..BUT NOBODY IS! blown forecast..sorry
Hopefully the thunderstorms will stay away till we get our drywall materials home tonight for this weekend's project! Saw the forecast yesterday and we're keeping our fingers crossed!
