Yeah, I know . . . it's summer.

But I want to get ahead of things for this winter.

I have had fireplace inserts in two of my homes in the past. Hubby doesn't like them b/c the old buckstove type we had were ugly. Yes, they were ugly.

But I am seeing new ones that seem more appealing to the eye.

I don't know where to go find them, tho. They used to be advertised all over the place back in the 70s and 80s (the ugly ones).

And I don't want to pay a gazillion $$$ for it, either.

So has anyone purchased a wood burning fire place insert lately - and can recommend where to go in this region to look at them and price them out?

I would go as far as Spartanburg and up to Lenoir, but would need someone to deliver and install, so figure I better stick a little closer to home than that.

Hope you all can give me some guidance.
