Well, no info yet from from sources in the business. For those still curious about market performance a good web site for data can be had by checking out OFHEO on google. The 4th quarter 2006 stats are posted and it includes the Chittenden Co MSA. Looks like Vt in fact performed better than our New England neighbors in maintaining and growing equity in our homes. Of course these are general statistics so it would be nice to get the actual impression and pulse of the market from folks who first hand deal with the market. Glancing at some of the other states and MSA data I guess we can be fortunate to be here in Vt.
As a Realtor in the Saint Albans area, things have been moving very slowly since October. However, in the last 2 weeks it has been EXTREMELY busy, which is great. Prices have come down very little, but keep in mind each home and seller situation is very different. If a home is priced well, it will move.
I relocated to Seattle from Charlotte, and would move back there if mother nature would control the heat and humidity. And if I didn't have to drive so far just to get to a beach. The city tries to make up for it with all of their spectacular water fountains. They are indeed the best I've ever seen. And all the banks seem to be competing to be the tallest skyscraper. Charlotte is also close to everything and quite progressive. Gastonia, just too far away from it all, particularly if you enjoy arts and culture.

Chem, your post is a bit vague. To help you we need to know your price range for renting or buying. Also, what kind of job do you need, because not all jobs are to be found in all areas. You may have to pick your city based on job availability.
