I am looking for a fabric store in the south side of Charlotte or near Fort Mill. Ive been to Hancock's and that is fair. I definately need it to have cottons and quilting fabrics, not just upolstery and decorator fabrics. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

There are a few and one or two the names which escape me but I can tell you where they are.
Qbee's on Highway 49 near the SuperTarget (Steel Creek area) - quilting supplies, cotton fabric
Fabric Warehouse - just opposite the Ayrsley Cinemas on Highway 49 near 485 exit. Mainly upholstry.
Mary Jo's - everything you could want - I85 - Cox Road exit
Foust - Kings Mountain
Robyns - Pineville - don't know if they are still there

I live in S. Charlotte and my wife always goes to Mary Jo's in Gastonia. A bit of a haul, but nothing else compares in this area. If you know specifically what you want, you can shop online too, however shipping adds up quick.

That's what I hear from everyone as well. Take a trip to Mary Jo's:

Pretty much Mary Jo's is your best bet no matter where you come from. We live near Lake Norman and drive to Mary Jo's if Hancock and Tony's (exit 23) don't have it.

Has anyone been to Fabric World? I think it just opened a year or so ago.

(704) 587-1125

2520 Whitehall Park Dr
Charlotte, NC 28273 35.142269 -80.938141

I have been to Mary Jo's and it gets a ! Actually found the same fabric an interior decorator had shown me. I wanted to make a duvet cover, bought the fabric and it's still on the roll. I even took my sewing machine in for maintenance. I'll try a pillow first before I tackle the cover.
