I am not a Quaker, but lived in an area with a large concentration of Quakers. I have, occasionally, gone to a Quaker Meetinghouse.

The 3 closest meetings, here, are Pineville, Charlotte, & Hickory. Pineville is listed as pastoral. The meeting that I have attended, occasionally, in the past, was unstructured. Does anyone have 1st hand information about these meetings? If not 1st hand, then if you know friends or neighbors who attend, I'd be interested in that information.

Thanks.

Can't help you with Quakers but I have a Mennonite friend in Canada who said there's a fellowship of Mennonites down in Morven.

Little bit of a drive but supposedly a very 'New Testament' model.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll try and get a few more details.

Thanks for the offer, but my interest is the Quaker meetings. I'm not planning to join, but I just like to go occasionally. The meetings near where I used to live were very old & had burying grounds right there at the meeting house & sometimes I would just go to the burying ground.

I've done this with various denominations. I just like Quaker best.

I have friends (ha!) who attend the Charlotte Friends Meeting, and they love it there. It is unstructured. They started a Friends School here.

I also come from some of the very old Quaker lines in this country. I checked several websites prior to posting this thread.

Jamestown, NC is named for one of my ancestors, James Joseph Mendenhall. There are many more Quaker connections in the Greensboro area, but that's not where I live, therefore my post concerning the Charlotte area.
