Are they offered anywhere on a walk-in basis, such as at CMC or other hospital?

I'm talking about the regular flu shot, not the H1N1.

DOH! I answered my own question by googling flu shot clinics:

FLUCLINICLOCATOR.ORG

Put in your zip code. I found Walgreens and CVS pharmacies have them through their in-store clinics for $25.

That's a good deal if you have to pay for them. My doctor's office just quoted me $36. I have no idea why

More info on obtaining flu shots:

Seasonal flu shots available f/ Health Dept for $25.
If you are on Medicare, the shots are no charge.

HEALTH DEPARTMENT URGES RESIDENTS TO GET SEASONAL FLU SHOT
Charlotte, N.C. – The Mecklenburg County Health Department is now taking appointments for seasonal influenza vaccinations.

Beginning Tuesday, September 15, 2009, Health Department staff will administer the seasonal flu vaccine only (H1N1 vaccine information will come at a later date) in immunization clinics at 249 Billingsley Road and 2845 Beatties Ford Road.

To make an appointment, call (704) 336-6500.

It’s important to remember that seasonal flu is caused by different flu viruses than the Novel H1N1 influenza virus that first appeared this spring. Seasonal flu happens every year, starting in the fall and lasting through spring.

“While we are certainly concerned about what the H1N1 flu will bring, we must be vigilant when it comes to seasonal influenza,” said Dr. Wynn Mabry, Mecklenburg County Health director.

I've been looking into this. My insurance covers all immunizations, including annual flu shots at 100%. However, the Walgreens walk-in won't accept it for the shot (even though prescriptions are covered there) b/c the pharmacy administers it, not an NP or PA or whatever & so they aren't considered an in-network provider. I would have to file a self-claim & get out-of-network reimbursement. BUT, the CVS clinic is a walk-n clinic w/an NP on staff & they will take my insurance as in-network & it's covered on the spot. Not every CVS has the clinic--go to the website--it's called the Minute Clinic. They also have pediatric shots for kids 18 months & older (Walgreens did not).

They typically have clinics at some of the YMCA's locally. Also, from my understanding, it is recommended to wait till at least October to get your flu shot so it lasts all season.

I think most/all Walgreens are offering them on a walk-in basis. I think the cost was around $25 or so.

Most Walgreens will accept Blue Cross (not sure what the copay is) and Medicare Part B (covered 100%). The shots are $24.99 ($29.99 for the shot without the preservative). I'm not sure how much the Flumist is. Most stores should have an immunizer there from 10-4. Some stores are requiring an appointment because they are pretty busy right now with the shots, but at most stores you can just walk in. You have to be 18 and older to get the shots at the pharmacy, children must see the pediatrician.
