Matthews Farmers market has a lady there who sells local honey. I cannot remember her name at the moment but will look at the jam I bought from her (which was delicious by the way!) when I get home later.
Most any Farmers Markets will have local honey venders. We get ours from Richfield. We had a bee swarm come into our yard so, after some looking around, found these people and they came and took our swarm to their bee hives. The honey is great, the prices are fair and the people are so nice. They told us so much about bees and honey. Very interesting and informative. Their phone number is (704) 985-5489 if you are interested. It's a bit of a drive for you probably but the honey is great and the people are the best!! Not sure how you feel about "organic" but these people are really into it!!

I second the Matthews Farmers market - great honey. There's a husband & wife that have their own honey farm (cannot remember the name). Their booth is to the right as soon as you enter the market from the parking lot side (as opposed to the entrance from downtown Matthews).
Lately I've been enjoying Sourwood honey from the Sourwood tree. Funny name for a particularily sweet honey. Turns out the trees are pretty rare, so I feel kinda lucky it's native to this area. I get it at various farmer's markets including the biggest one - by exit 6B. Also, all honey is organic b/c bees will not eat from flowers that are sprayed b/c it will kill them. Bizarre but true, they seem to know better than us!
