This could be a new ongoing thread of trying to figure out what various smells around town are. On Friday, I started noticing a stench on 5th St. between Church and Tryon. I have never smelled it before and it has been there every day this week also.

Any ideas? Maybe that lousy Chinese buffet is making it?

Seems like Tin Tin is not close enough to 5th St. but who knows. China Queen seemed like an easy target, I didn't know it closed.

Towards the north side I found out if you head towards on I77 near exit 18 you will smell something that smells like baby powder; on a similar thread I did on the subject. I learn that it is where the inserts for diaper genie. I havent pin pointed it location except it is in the office park off of Reame Road

Maybe the sewer is backed up there, and they dumped something in it to contain the real smell.

When Tin Tin first opened the vents were directed right out front on Tryon Street. So many people complained about the stench they moved the venting a different direction. I always assumed the smell was from China Queen but now that they are closed, it could be Tin Tin...

Or worse yet , the smell of wet cigarette butts on South Blvd. between Woodlawn and Seneca coming from that plant. I'll make sure never to partake in any of their food products.

That odor is from the chemical plant . I think they make vinagar. Been there for many years.
