Hi All,

I'm being relocated to the area from Florida. My wife is a middle school science teacher. She has been teaching for over 12 years. Any suggestion on when to look for potential positions in the districts surrounding Charlotte?

Here's Charlotte's Mecklenburg site: Career Opportunities
Others will chime in for outside areas.

Here's Gastonia: http://www.gaston.k12.nc.us/jobs/pages/welcome.aspx
Cabarrus: Cabarrus County Schools - District Home Page
Fort Mill, SC: Fort Mill School District - York 4 - Employment Opportunities

Maldoro, you wife might not see openings, but have her fill out an application anyway.

As a science teacher her odds of finding a job are better than some. Just know we are seeing layoffs and big cuts in schools right now. Depending on where your job will be you may want to look at surrounding counties. I personally like Cabarrus County, just northeast of Charlotte
