Good evening everyone! My husband I are looking into the best neighborhoods in the 190-225K range around Concord, Huntersville, North of University. We currently living in south Charlotte and aren't pleased. We have a 3 years old and want to be in the best schools as well since kindergarten is fast approaching. Any neighborhood and school suggestions would be great as well.

Thank you,
Sara

You should definitely look into Harrisburg.

The Highland Creek neighborhood area is smack dab between the two places you mention...and by my opinion, is a great place. All the conveniences of the University City area without being smack dab in the middle of it all.

Moss Creek has some nice housing options in that price range plus great amenities & elementary/middle schools inside the community.

Default Take a Look at Village of Rosedale exit#23 on 77 N

This's a small subdivison , Torrence Creek Elementary attached to the subdivision, most of the kids in this subdivision are walkers to school.

We love Harrisburg, and the schools are top notch with very active parents and community - the main reason we moved to the area. I do have to say that many of the Charlotte nieghborhoods are more attractive (as they are more established with mature trees), but Harrisburg has some nice options. You may even want to look a bit higher in price range as you may be able to negotiate a bargain, particularly with builders who have completed inventory. A few neighborhoods that I think are nice, depending on your preference: Magnolia Springs, Rocky River Crossing, Canterfield (be cautious here), Bridge Pointe, Stallings Glen, and Stallings Farm. the first four being newer construction the latter being a bit more established. Do not hesitate to walk into the schools and ask for a tour and information, most if not all should be willing to assist. There are two elementary schools that you may attend, Rocky River Elementary and Harrisburg Elementary. Our experience is with Harrisburg - one child through and another just started Kindergarten this year. Have loved every teacher and every administrator we have ever come in contact with.

Best of Luck!

I really like Wynfield. You might be able to find 1 or 2 in Wynfield in that price range.

You'd be hard pressed to find anything in Wynfield for less than $275 or so. Cedarfield has the same "feel", but more affordable houses.

I've been living in Moss Creek for about a week. I like it so far. I think there are houses in your range still available to buy or build.

I don't know about the schools, but Birkdale Village in Huntersville is GORGEOUS. And there are homes listed there for under $300k. All in a beautifully designed residential community integrated with an attractive "downtown" with stores and restaurants. Wish I knew about it before I moved down here.
