HI
I have little bugs, to me they look like fruit flies and considering I baked an apple pie last week I figured that is what they are.

But the pie is gone and I have been noticing them in my bathrooms and also still in the kitchen.

They appear to be hanging around the sink area in these rooms.

Anyone have any idea what they are and how to get rid of them?

Thanks for any help.

Fruit fliies or 'Drosophila' as they are called are prolific breeders but to find them right up to the bathroom is rather unusual . How about posting a pic for ?? identification

They could be drain flies.

It's unusual to see flies in the bathroom. If your kitchen has a garbage disposal, it's time to clean it. They sell cleaners in grocery store or you could use your own homemade. Try pouring clorox and soap into the disposal, turn on the faucet and let water run, turn on disposal, until you see the soap coming up in your sink. Try this several times and the problem should eradicate, at least in the kitchen.

I have noticed the same thing and thought they were fruit flies as well until I noticed one in the bathroom this morning!! I thought maybe it was the moisture in the bathroom that attracted them but I would also love to know how to get rid of the pesky lil buggers :-)

I never had them in the bathroom. But when I had them in the kitchen, a glass of red wine vinegar on the countertop got rid of them. It took a few days though to get them all gone.

thank you all for the replies.
they are too small to get a picture of them.
wondering if they are the drain flies, but hard to tell if they look like the pictures as they are so small. they are red in color, not gray like the description of drain flys.
I put a call into my bug people, I figure it's what I pay for so they might as well come out and take care of them.
unfortunatley they can't come until wed.
thanks for your help
I will try to remember to post after I find out what they are.

fruit flies start in the kitchen but I remember finding them in the bathroom as well. Boiling water down the drains a few times took care of them. They breed in the trap area.
