Well if I'm going to buy around 150,000 and 200,000 and if its rent which i prefer some where between 1,000 and 1,500/ month

I would really like to have a house in the NoDa area or Historical South End area.

I thought you wanted "safe"? NoDa would not be my first choice is safety were a high priority.

Not that people are getting murdered there every day or anything, but the crime issues are frustrating to folks who live there that I know. You also won't be able to buy in that area in your price range unless you don't mind a home in need of being seriously rehabbed. There are, however, condo's in NoDa in that price range.

I'd suggest you look for home rentals in Chantilly or Elizabeth since you want a more urban neighborhood. Though do expect to pay closer to the high end of your price range for a 3 bedroom

It really is good advice to rent for a while before buying. Learn the city well and then you'll understand what area suits your lifestyle and job the best. Charlotte has a lot of choices under $200,000.
