I know there are some Californians on this board... please help me figure this out.
My husband moved out to Charlotte in November and I cannot move out there until January. He was transferred by his employer and has the exact same job, exact same benefits, exact same pay. However, once he started getting paid in North Carolina
his paychecks went down almost $100!!!!
How is this possible.
California state income tax is 9.3% and NC is 7%. My husband has direct deposit, so we need to get hard copies before we can sit down and compare the statements.
But I'm hoping someone on this board can help shed some light?!?
