Hi guys!

Can anyone tell me if there are any good salad bars in or around Charlotte, especially south Charlotte? I mean salad bar *restaurants*, not the kind in grocery stores. I looked to see if there are any Soup Plantations or Sweet Tomatoes there, but it looks like there are a couple in Raleigh, and none in Charlotte. Anyone know of anything like that in Charlotte? Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks!

There's a place called Souper Salad which is pretty good, and I think there are some other ones.

Also, I know you said not grocery stores, but the Harris Teeter at the Morrocroft shopping center has a Starbucks attached, with indoor and outdoor seating. It is very common for people to get salad bar at HT and eat it at Starbucks (I just also buy coffee for me and milk for the kids to be fair to Starbucks!).

Hi Aoyas,

We had Sweet Tomatoes in South Florida (my favorite high carb binge place), and you can tell by anyone who compares it to a Ruby Tuesday or a supermarket salad bar then they have never been to Sweet Tomatoes. Oh, how I miss those muffins...

According to the company website there is one in Raleigh and one in Cary but none in Charlotte.

Yep, Sweet Tomatoes (and Soup Plantation, as it's called in CA - same company) is soooo good! I love that they have about a hundred different veggies to choose from. The muffins, potato bar, and facaccia pizza are great, too. Charlotte should definitely get at least one ST or SP. I'm sure it would be popular there. It's REALLY popular in CA and AZ.

Hopefully, some of the salad bar suggestions I've received (Jason's Deli, Salad Creations, Ruby Tuesday) will be just as good! I noticed that at a couple of those places, you can get a big baked potato with different toppings, too, which would work well for us...we love "stuffed" baked potatoes. We're going to try to eat salads (or stuffed potatoes) for our lunches while we're in Charlotte in a couple weeks, and we like salad bars, because they're usually relatively inexpensive, and you can get a good variety.

If anyone knows of any other places in (South) Charlotte where you can get "stuffed" baked potatoes or really good salads (even not in a salad bar), we'd appreciate those suggestions, as well.

Thanks, everybody, for the suggestions!

I love the big ol' baked potatoes at McAlister's Deli over in Ballantyne (yum).
