Somewhere in the last little bit, it seems that Lowes Motor Speedway has reverted back to its original name, Charlotte Motor Speedway. it probably has something to do with the fact that Lowes has decided to move its sponsorship down to the NASCAR HOF.

I actually prefer the old name.

I agree. I hate these corporate sponsor names for venues.

We cant initial it CMS that could get confusing on these forums. hehe...

I dont mind corporate sponsorship but a part of the original name should stay.
When I heard of Bojangles Arena. I thought we got another arena.
It should be Bojangles Independence Arena.
Is the HOF now going to be called Lowes Hall of Fame. People will think we honor great lawn mower drivers
or is now going to be called Lowes Nascar Hall of Fame

The track will only remain "Charlotte Motor Speedway" until Bruton Smith can find another sponsor to fork over the money for naming rights. It might take a little while until the economy picks up a bit, but Smith has probably gotten used to a paycheck just for putting up some signs on the track, so he'll be wanting that money coming in again.

The contract on the naming rights ran out with Lowes, that's all. Sadly, there will be another I'm sure. I prefer it being called Charlotte Motor Speedway too

Now that was funny!

What is even funnier is that there actually is a U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association and they do have a HOF: Hall of Fame | LET'S MOW - USLMRA (http://uslmra.org/about-2/us-lawn-mower-racing-association-announces-national-lawn-mower-racing-hall-of-fame/ - broken link)
