I use Killingsworth. The pest contract is for a year, and they will return at any time during the contract to re-spray if you see any pests. Plus, they let you pay for the contract in installments if necessary.

In addition, they gave the HOA in my neighborhood the best bid on termite treatment/contract. My interactions with them have been positive and everyone friendly.

KM - i had a guy on year contract for exterminating, this was the best money I ever spent. We had a bad ant problem, they seem to follow me all over down here. They were the best. Our current guys (landlords guys) stink.

I'd advise to stay away from the 'coporate' companies and stick with a local provider. Keep the money in the neighborhood. Good Luck.

Yes, I am glad I went with a contract, too. At first I was not going to but after the horrible ants the Carolinas had last year, I am not taking any chances!
Those darn ants were everywhere. While I did not get any in my house, my neighbor did and my parents had ants in Birkdale. And I see spiders from time to time and those CREEP me OUT! So irritating!!

As far as I know, yes they are locally owned. They are headquartered in Indian Trail. Link:

If you're looking for a good exterminator without a contract, I use Bug out Pest Control, you just simply call them when you need them!! I bring them out 2 times a year and they do a great job. In my communtiy, which was built by Ryan Homes, they used Killingsworth and we had a few companies come and try to get me to sign a contract. Bug out typically charges 59.00 - 69.00 per visit.

That's a good price if one does not want a contract. Killingsworth charges $80 for a single visit, so $60 is a pretty good price.
