Any Team USA soccer fans attending the Mexico v Iceland match at Bank of America stadium? I'm sure I'll be greatly outnumbered but I was hoping there would be others in attendance wanting to see a good game. Hopefully this is a step towards becoming a host city when the World Cup comes to the USA. Go Iceland!

We are going - but we are Ireland and England fans (boo hoo for Ireland not going to the world cup - damn French!) and one of my kids will be wearing his new Mexico shirt but the other will support Iceland - see how confusing it is LOL

Charlotte didn't make the cut to be a host city when the US's 2018 World Cup bid was finalized a few months ago.

BTW, the Observer now reporting that 65,000+ tickets sold.

Anything in this economy, that will bring in that amount of revenue and international interest to this city is fantastic.

No point in definitively telling you 'yes' or 'no' since no-one can predict the ticket sales in the next few days. If you really wanna go, just buy a ticket asap. I'm not sure what the scalping environment will be like either.

Also not sure how rooting for Iceland is gonna help Team USA
