Commissioner voted to enforce water restrictions today. Problem being blamed on growth and poor planning, with the most water being used in Weddington, Waxhaw and Marvin. The news report I saw cited large lots in these areas and automatic irrigation systems watering lawns. The county used 21 million gallons of water this past Sunday.

Same news report noted that more than 1,200 building permits were issued in UC this year.

At this time, Meck County is asking people to voluntarily restrict water usage.
