Property tax for each vehicle based on an inflated (IMHO) value of the vehicle. My 2004 Toyota Sienna ends up being about $250, and my 2003 Toyota Echo is somewhere around $75.

And we pay this EVERY single year for each vehicle we own.
MN tags were $200 last year for my 2001 4 door mid-size sedan. I think NC tags, inspection, and tax all added together will be about equal when I finally switch my plates over.

When a state is run by democrats you can't expect it not to be
a place with less tax.NC has some of the highest taxes in the south.

The Highway Use Tax (HUT) actually not bad as it's 3% and capped at $1000. So if your vehicle is more than $33K you make out like a bandit (lol). The tax is only assessed with the title is transfered and isn't paid each year.

I am answering myself.

I found out surprisingly a vehicle property tax is collected annually in SC.

This handy dandy pdf describes most taxes in SC:

http://www.sctax.org/NR/rdonlyres/F2...thCarolina.pdf

Again, simply for comparison only. I would have bet money that there was no annual vehicle tax existed in SC...interesting.

I love NC but these folks vote for some of the worst politicians.I can't recall a worse governor than Mike Easley.I know Arnold Swartznagger is Republican but but look at what all these prior democrats done to mess up the state of California. That's a beautiful state but not fit to live in because of politicians.
