xray,
We used the Huntersville Animal Care Hospital on Statesville Road for the past 3 years and were pleased with them.

Paws and Claws Mobile vet. They'll come to you.

Also, the last time they were in town, my Sister-in-law and her husband and two cats stayed at LaQuinta.

xray, I know most people are afraid to leave their pets but if you need boarding in the Huntersville area, you are literally in the best place in the world IMO!!

I travel for work and you have never seen pet luxury like Camp Wagging Tails and The Meadows Bed and Biscuit! The dogs have to go through a trial day, have up to date shots and a bordatella shot every 6 months. But the facilities are AWESOME. My dog is much happier there than if I brought him to a hotel with me on business or vacation!! Where else can he swim in a bone-shaped, in-ground pool, play in supervised play groups with other dogs, get snack time, nap time, and TV time, and play for hours?

We used Huntersville Animal Care Hospital for an emergency when my dog was bit by another dog. Loved them!

We go to Birkdale Animal Hospital for routine visits. They are a husband/wife team and been very happy with them. They also own Rhodesian Ridgebacks and have for many years, so they are very familiar with my breed. They do boarding, not that I've boarded there, and they have play times in you choose that option. I take my puppy there for group training, very full service.

I second Birkdale Animal Hospital. Our dog got very sick right after we moved here and they have been wonderful. (Dog is doing better now).

3rd vote for Birkdale animal hospital. I like that they don't try and pork you for all the extra stuff everytime you go there.

We have been seeing Dr. Mark at Birkdale Animal Hospital on Northcross for years. He was in Concord and we now drive all the way to Huntersville to see him. He is the BEST and his staff is friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I can't recommend him highly enough.

My "children" go to Dr. James at North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital. A little pricey, but he has helped walk us through a very hard to diagnose condition with my Cairn terrier. He is very good about telling you all of your options and what he would recommend. Right now I can get all of the "treatments" at Home Econonmist-a real $$ saver. I was impressed he didn't try to sell us on some high dollar prescription.

They are located near intersection of HWY 73 and Old Statesville Road.
They literally saved our poodle during emergency surgery 3 years ago.

Lake Cross Veterinary Hospital, P.A. - Huntersville, NC (http://www.lakecross.com/index.php - broken link)

Also this website is great for finding pet friendly hotels when traveling.
