I've worked in Charter, Private, and Public charlotte schools and my husband works for the Superintendant. CMS has a great magnet program, in fact Park Road Montesouri is filled with caring teachers and has a strong PTA. If you have a child interested in the arts, we have arts magnets as well. I don't know how old your kids are. Don't think that just because a school has a high population of economically disadvantaged means it's bad. Historically successful principals have been moved into high needs schools recently, and if your child attends one, he or she can get the benefit of extra resources available like Title 1 tutoring. I hope this helps. If i know what ages your kids are, I can help more
