Hello, All,
I've been pretty quiet for a while, but I know I can turn to my fellow CD'ers for help!

Does anyone know of a Neurologist in the Charlotte area who specializes in Parkinson's Disease? I've just been diagnosed and need a doctor I can really talk to.

Please, if you know of someone, post his/her name here. This is a little scary!
J

Sanjay Iyer at Carolinas.
It doesn't say so here but I believe he is director of neurology at CMC.

Haven't seen him as a patient so can't comment on that.

Default Thank you!

susan42, I appreciate the suggestion and I'll spend time investigating any and all names! It's good to know he's connected to CMC.

Sorry, to hear about your diagnosis. The good thing (if you can call it that) is that Parkinsons seems to have a lot of support and, of course, exposure from the many well-known folks who also have been diagnosed. And there seem to be plenty of local and regional support groups you can become involved in.

I'd recommend Dr. Bing Liu at Northeast Neurology in Concord.

Default Dr. Bing Liu

superk, thank you so much for your kind words and your referral.
I've been looking on the net for support groups and found only one in my area, but I'll keep looking. The group I did find doesn't seem to have anything to do with support!

I'll look at Dr. Bing Liu's practice right away.
Thanks again.

Whenever we're in that office for an appointment there are always a bunch of fliers around for local Parkinson's Support Group meetings.

My husband has Parkinson's and we see Dr. Andrea Diedrich located on Randolph Road. She's excellent in our opinion.

BarbJ, thanks for your contribution... I'll check that out as well.
I'm sorry to hear you are also dealing with Parkinson's. It affects the patient as well as the family!

How long has your husband known of this diagnosis?
