Hello Everyone!

Every now and then I drive past a very big Mansion on Sugar Creek and I've always wondered what exactly it was! It looks like a palace of some sort...wayyyy too big to be anyone's home. It sits south of WT Harris and north of Nevin Rd. Just curious, what is this place?

Thanks guys

You must be talking about the tacky one with the lions out front? I have heard that it is the pastor's home for the tiny church adjacent to the property.

Can you say "building fund"?

I grew up in that area - unless I'm mistaken, that was the home of Sweet Daddy Grace, a founding pastor of the United House of Prayer for All People. I don't know much about the church itself, but I do know Sweet Daddy was well-loved by his congregants.

My school bus used to go by there, and I remember whispers of golden Rolls Royces...

Sounds like the congregation helped him get rich. I've seen those churches in different areas around Charlotte, including the one beside the "Palace of Lions".
