Not to make light of a tax hike- who likes them, the 2% translates into approximately another $20/year/$100K. I guess I'll just have to settle for a tall verona vs. the venti to compensate- the sacrifices one must make...

Even apartment renters are indirectly paying property taxes, it's built into the rent that's being charged. You don't think that complexes are going to swallow the property tax bill, do you?

Dunkin Donuts coffee rocks...we serve SB at some of our accounts, but we are now switching a lot to Pura Vida (a non profit coffee which is resposnibly grown).

Well the amount of growth will force a constant rise of taxes and cost of living, especially in the fastest growing county in NC, Union county. With Iredell and Cabarrus counties not far behind.
I lived in one of the fastest growing cities in the country and they never raised our taxes.

Of course they don't pay as much nor should they as they never own the building nor the land. However the property taxes for everything is still being paid collectively by the people who rent.
My biggest gripe with Charlotte is that the cost of living along with interest rates are going up faster than the average salaries. That is definitely NOT a good thing.
