Does anyone know where to get low-cost pet vaccines in Charlotte? I already take advantage of the free rabies shots at Animal Control, I was wondering if there was anywhere that provided the annual vaccinations.

Thanks!

Not sure if this will help or not, but the "Pet Hospital" in Bessemer City is probably the cheapest in the area. They do great work and if you are in the Gaston county area, that is where I would go.

I hope you know that the free shots at animal control require owner ID and your pet is then put into the system for you to automatically be fined with no warnings if you dont keep the animals license and required shots up to date. The fine is 50 dollars cash the first offense and as I said they are very quick to catch any person who forgets to renew the annual license on time.Much less hassle to get your shot at the vets.

Long Animal Hospital on South Blvd is pretty reasonable, compared to what I've heard from other people.

Also the Humane Society may have some shot clinics every now and then.

For those people savvy enough to do it yourself, you can pick up annual vaccines for dogs and cats with the exception of rabies at places like Tractor Supply Company. The shot carries the same vaccines you get from the vet, comes with instructions on how to administer yourself (very easy, quick and painless). Dogs come in 5 way (puppies / small dogs) or 7 way for under $10 (last I checked, Banfield charged around $100 for this same shot for dogs), and cats are similar in price (I don't have cats, I'm not sure exact price). These shots are not required by law, so you do not have to have proof that they've been given from a vet like rabies. Once give them, created a file for your pet by pulling the sticker off the vial, place it on a sheet of paper, note next to it the date given and sign, then file for your own records.
