These look like really good jobs but I wonder how many folks already here will qualify for them, or if it will mean recruitment from other areas of the country.

So does anyone have a link to how many jobs Charlotte has added thus far this year?

We need a link that shows jobs created in Charlotte vs. job losses.

why?
what would that prove ...nothing
everyone knows that there was job loss in the nation and everyone in
the nation felt effects of the worse recession since the great depression
there been oddles of new job threads created this year 5 last month
of coming jobs even it wouldnt be accurate to include this or the
other jobs coming threads because they are jobs coming
Charlotte is rebounding . On WCNBC there was a report Charlotte has
the second city less available office space even after all the new buildings Uptown.
We have enough open office space to attract businesses to relocate
]
or open shop here.
Beverly Perdue is making this state attractive for companies to relocate here
Im not going to be sucked into this negative way of thinking.
Especially when there is people who are making appears to be little
effort from living off the goverment Yes we Can

I hope I didn't sound negative, Sunny. I was just wondering if we had folks here out of work who were qualified, cause the job description sounds more like the type of thing that would have drawn folks to the Raleigh-Durham area in years past. I am very happy to see the jobs and think Clariant is a great company, as well. I am also very excited that foreign countries want to invest here.

I just wondered how we were stacking up with years past with jobs coming here. I think in years past we get somewhere b/n 15-17K new jobs a year on average. So we need to keep getting them and more in addition to the numbers we have regularly gotten in order to get our unemployment rate down.

I am sorry if it sounded like I was being negative. I think the economic development council and chamber work hard every year to bring in new businesses, as well as the mayor and any other agencies involved with recruiting new companies to our area. Now, I question how much Perdue has had to do with this, but I am glad to see the jobs, regardless of who is angling to get the credit for bringing them, lol.
