[LEFT]One of the biggest names in national talk-show radio will be in Charlotte next weekend for a speaking engagement.

And he’ll be replacing another of the nation’s biggest radio names.

The National Rifle Association announced Thursday that syndicated radio talker Glenn Beck will deliver the keynote address at the NRA’s 139th annual Meetings and Exhibits in Charlotte. He replaces Sean Hannity, who had to cancel because of a scheduling conflict, the NRA said.

Beck, whose show is heard in Charlotte on WBCN (1660 AM), will speak during the “Freedom Experience” event, set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Time Warner Cable Arena.

The NRA’s convention will be May 14-16, with most events at the Charlotte Convention Center. Scheduled to speak the night before Beck is 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Like Sarah Palin you would know by now because the best chance of getting tickets would be from VA and $100 for Palin was a bit out of reach. They said the odds of tickets being left for purchase in Charlotte was zero. So don't worry.

As long as he stays out of Charlotte's movie theaters.........

"I went to the movies this weekend with a gun. And surprise, surprise, I didn't kill anybody!"

Is anyone going to protest the NRA convention? In the spirit of PCU (awesome movie, imo), I want to protest the protest.

"We're not gonna protest!!!"

I don't think a movie theather is a place for a gun. I am all for gun ownership, but they have a time and a place. Back to the topic....wow, Beck and Palin in town....talk about a meeting of the minds (or better said, the lack of.....)

Hey I don't particulary enjoy Beck when he on O'Reilly, however he makes everyone wake up while the USA goes down the path of disruction and for people who play the race card, I guess it takes a simpleton to fall back on a '70's attitudes.
