You're welcome. It was fun sitting on my deck, watching them watching me. I was trying to throw a "hey guys, it's cool to hang out in my yard" vibe so I could watch them for a while.
We have a regular group at our house, too. They eat my shrubs and plants! But I have learned how to deal with them for the most part. They ate my entire tomato plants last year, so this year, everything is on the deck, where they can't reach my veggies. A hassle to put everything in pots, but this was the only way to do it if I plan to harvest anything.
I have planted other things down near the creek for them to munch on. It keeps them somewhat at bay, but at night, we even see them in our front yard, not even six feet from the front door. They drink out of our fountain, too. We decided they needed sustenance so we have tried to live (somewhat) happily with them.
Animal control knows of my efforts, and last summer, they brought an abandoned newborn fawn to my back yard, put him down at the creek, in hopes he would either find his mom or be adopted. That evening about 5 pm, we were eating outdoors on the deck, and suddenly we saw a doe. She stayed with the little fellah the rest of the evening. By the next morning, they were gone, but they come back to visit daily.
We sometimes have as many as six munching near the creek. This week, one of them completely topped several of my plants (right at the deck). I was disappointed, but I keep in mind their habitat is vanishing. This weekend, I am planting pumpkin seeds all over the hill in back, in hopes they will enjoy those plants and stay away from my perennials!
Enjoyed the photos!
