I know there are several companies who will come to you to repair or replace a car windshield. Ours needs to be replaced - ours was hit by a rock in the winter and by the time we could get the guys to come out and repair it, the crack had already grown too large. It's only getting worse now with the heat of the summer.

I am hoping for several bits of info from you all: how much does a replacement windshield cost? - we have a 2010 Accord and our insurance deductable is too high plus we don't have glass coverage, so it's out of pocket. What companies would you recommend to do the job? Also, is it less expensive to actually take it somewhere for the work, and if so, can you recommend a place?

We are in Steele Creek, so anywhere on the South or SW side of Charlotte would be great.

Thanks!

I got mine done from Safelite on my Honda Accord last month. Another thing , you may want to talk to your insurance company. The normal deductible does not apply to windshield. You can also try AAA. There are lot of coupons on Web too. It is an interesting search.

Our policy does not include glass, but windshields should be covered under the "comprehensive" portion of the policy. It was $100 to replace and we used Safelite for a 2008 Rogue and a 2003 Civic.

Hi!

We used Safelite as well--it was $200 for a chevy blazer.

I called on Easter Sunday (a limb hit our windshield, and it was a major crack), and they were there first thing the next morning. Super nice and professional.

Do you have a garage? Avoid car washes for at least 48 hours after installation. And, the guy I talked to asked if I had a garage (I don't), so he was kind enough to check the weather forecast to make sure heavy rains weren't coming in the next day.
