Hellooooo Charlottesville!

My husband and I are thinking of moving to Charlottesville in a few months (currently reside in Nevada). He works in the field of mental and behavioral services, typically for adolescents and at-risk youth. Do any of you personally know of programs like this in the Charlottesville area? I googled the heck out of it the other day, and I got a lot of results in Arlington, Fairfax, and Richmond, but I am more interested in Charlottesville. I did find a website for a company called "Compass," which offers mental and behavioral health services, so that's something.
I will continue researching; I just wanted to get the human perspective on it. Thanks for any help you can provide!

- Sheffy

Are you looking for a job for your husband with a governmental program, a quasi-governmental program or a private employer?

Here's a private outfit in C-ville:

Charlottesville VA mental health practice for children, adolescents, and families | Poehailos, Dupont & Associates, PLC

I have no affiliation with this firm and know nothing about them.
Region Ten often has job openings.

There are at least two private boarding schools for students with special needs in the Central Virginia area.

There is also the Discovery School in Dillwyn.

Discovery School of Virginia Home

It is coed and says on its homepage that it serves teenage boys and girls who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, and learning problems.

There's also Ivy Creek School, which is operated by the Piedmont Regional Education Program (PREP) and the Lafayette School & Treatment Center. Both deal with students who have emotional/behavioral issues.

The Virginia Institute of Autism, obviously, deals with that population, and the Oakland School services students with learning disabilities, but it doesn't sound like it's a school for kids with behavioral issues.

Not sure if any of those would fit what your husband is looking for.

Thank you all for your informative replies! I will take some time and research the facilities and schools you mentioned.

My husband would be open to working for either government or private programs. He has worked for both in the past. Thanks again, and I welcome any more comments that you may have.
