Hi All,

Our family is moving from Washington, DC to Charlottesville. I'm looking into private schools for my two sons who will be entering Kindergarten and 2nd grade in the 2014-15 SY.

I would love some advice on the area private elementary schools that are under $20k/year. We have our eye on moving them both to Tandem when they get old enough, but we're waiting to see how our boys develop and if it would be a fit - if that gives you an idea of the type of school we gravitate toward. Meanwhile, we have no clue where to start with the private elementary schools. Both of our boys are currently in a small school with a student/teacher ratio of 10 students for each teacher.

I welcome and very much appreciate your advice (or warnings).

Thank you in advance.

Talk to Tandem parents for their suggestions (they have a great parent group). I would suggest you visit: Peabody, Free Union Country School, Charlottesville Waldorf & Mountaintop Montessori
