Hi, we are looking to relocate from NY. We love the look and feel of Charlottesville but don't feel we belong in the city itself. We'd love to have a 3-4 bedroom house with at least 3 acres of land for about 300K. School district comes in second to acreage, then safety/crime. Can anyone help us hone in on an area that might fit our needs? Thanks so much!!!!!

Outskirts of Crozet. Excellent schools, all the basic shopping, low to no crime, very family oriented. Gorgeous new library, great park for kids, and only fifteen minutes to C'ville.
Afton is a little farther from Crozet, but lots of land and affordable houses, come into Crozet to shop.

Where from in NY? You'd probably have to go as far out as Zion Crossroads (south of 64 towards 250) to maybe find something that fits your criteria. Charlottesville is pretty expensive at a minimum of 20 miles in any direction you go (Nelson is not advisable).
