Hey All,

Im looking to visit C-ville on a weekend getaway in the next few weeks. Seems like the Hilton Garden Inn is getting the best reviews, but its ~3miles from the downtown area. I've never been to C-ville, are there taxis/cabs to flag down around the downtown area? I suppose I could stay at the Omni, which as I understand, is located directly next to the mall.
Btw, are there bars and restaurants on the walking mall or primarily just stores and shops?
thanks for any info!

There are lots and lots of great restaurants all around the pedestrian mall. Hilton Garden Inn is almost brand new and is located in the Pantops area. Omni would be a better choice if you didn't want to bother with a cab, etc. Water Street runs parallel to the walking mall (Downtown Mall) and has lots of great restaurants as well: popular spots downtown: OXO, C & O, Cassis, Downtown Grill, Blue Light Grill, X-lounge, Ten, Millers (bar with live music, etc.) and many many more spots. Hope this helps.

Pavel

Default C'ville Mall

While you're visiting the downtown Mall, try the italian gelato ice cream parlor. A Real treat!

Default Other decent downtown hotels

My hubby and I are visiting the area in 2 weeks and I saw the post about the Omin, but I was wondering if there were any other downtown hotels (possibly cheaper). Thanks

Bid on priceline.

I have gotten Mariott about 10-15 minutes from the city center for about $45 a night

The Omni actually has an entrance ON the downtown mall, so if you plan on going out for drinks this would be the best place to stay. Lots of great restaurants, bars, shops on the downtown mall!
The next two hotels that are closest to the downtown mall are Hampton Inn - 900 W. Main, and Red Roof Inn 1309 W. Main. Both of these are approx. one mile away from the downtown mall, so you may still be willing to walk.
