There are lots and lots of great restaurants all around the pedestrian mall. Hilton Garden Inn is almost brand new and is located in the Pantops area. Omni would be a better choice if you didn't want to bother with a cab, etc. Water Street runs parallel to the walking mall (Downtown Mall) and has lots of great restaurants as well: popular spots downtown: OXO, C & O, Cassis, Downtown Grill, Blue Light Grill, X-lounge, Ten, Millers (bar with live music, etc.) and many many more spots. Other decent downtown hotels
My hubby and I are visiting the area in 2 weeks and I saw the post about the Omin, but I was wondering if there were any other downtown hotels (possibly cheaper). Thanks

The Omni actually has an entrance ON the downtown mall, so if you plan on going out for drinks this would be the best place to stay. Lots of great restaurants, bars, shops on the downtown mall!
