Read an article on Chattanoogan that stated VW is likely to add a second vehicle to its production line, which would mean doubling its original production workers of 2,000 to around 4,000 in the VW plant alone.

So if you haven't been hired yet, there are still 1,000 positions that need to be filled, and if they do add the second vehicle your chances of landing a job are MUCH greater.

A second vehicle being produced means another parts supply chain will be needed. Wonder how many more external jobs that would create?

The car will be built on the same line and will not require additional employees at this time. The article in the Times-Free Press was completely different.

They are only planning on making the Passat replacement there, since the Passat will no longer be offered to the US Market. I'm sure they will add production, Mercedes started off with one model in Alabama and now makes several.
