Seems a little strange that you would have booked a week and a half trip to a city and had no plans on what to do. Who goes to a city they have never been and has no idea how big the city is and what kind of activities they have to offer?

I smell a troll....

Well, I've done that - in major European cities (like Lisbon) and major American cities (like NYC, Boston, San Fran) - but never in a smaller city. Even cities like Atlanta and Nashville and Dallas - I make a few plans.

Boredom is a state of mind not a part of geography.
Let me get this straight, you can't entertain yourself so you whine about the city you're visiting?

It isn't where you are. It is what you do that counts.

I've never been bored in my entire life and I'm older than dirt and have grey hair.

I went to Chattanooga for a wedding & ending up staying an extra night. We didn't have enough time to do all we wanted to do. Aquarium, incline railrd, Bluff Veiw arts District, plus to great meals, one in Bluff View & the other by the Aquarium.

Man, Chattanooga is by far my favorite TN city. You would have died if you had stayed in Murfreesboro for a week and a half! (Unless you can stay entertained by nothing but eating and shopping at chain stores)

LOL - you are my new favorite.

To the OP...good! More fun for the rest of us. Carry on!

That's why I'm moving soon hopefully. Chattanooga will have a place in my heart always, and it is a nice place to live. But if you're looking for a lot more from a city, then it doesn't compare to places like NYC, Chicago, Dallas, L.A., etc.

That's because you spent an extra day. OP was in Chattanooga for 2 weeks. I've done all you mentioned over a weekend. You must be from an even smaller city. Maybe one in N GA.

You said that you will hopefully be moving soon. Where are you moving to?

My husband was also unimpressed with chatty and he went up there with the intention of looking for a job and us moving there and guess what ? we never moved there and this was five yrs ago and glad we did not move there . we had a real estate agent helping us to find a place to rent and she was useless and the landlords we were dealing with , were renting rat holes and nasty places . Most of them were very greedy and I would equate them with slumlords . I have heard ppl from nashville say that in their opinion chatty is a dirty city and they would never livethere . I m just telling our expierience so dont get mad .
