My husband and I are having our first child in August. Does anyone have any recommendations for child care? We arn't specific yet if we want and daycare center or an individual. We are looking for a place that is teacher friendly... i.e. we wouldn't have to pay for the summer to hold our spot at the center.

Primrose is great. It's pricey but worth it to me.
They won't hold your spot through the summer if you don't pay tuition but I do know that there are some teachers with kids there that take their kids out in the summer (and don't pay) and they don't have a problem getting back in right now. Of course that can always change...

You probably won't find a center that will hold your spot through the summer with out paying tuition. Maybe they are out there but I haven't heard of them.

Most home base centers will require you to pay a portion (like a part time rate) through the summer to hold your spot...but again...you may find one out there.

Good luck! I know what a hard adventure this is!!!

What part of town are you looking at? Both my kids go/ went to Signal Centers (in Brainerd on N. Germantown) and I can't say enough good things about them. I doubt you could get a free summers deal but they do allow part time and would possibly let you go down to say, two days a week in the summer and then back to full time in the fall.
