Alright, I know a lot of opinion comes into play here, but I thought I'd ask anyways.
How hot and humid does it get (on average) in Chattanooga during the summer? Let's say, compared to Daytona Beach, Florida (since I lived there a few years and can use it as a comparison).

I have no idea about Daytona. Someone else will have to do that comparison. Memphis is worse and so is MS, but I think it's pretty bad. This past year was worse than normal, I think.

I always tell folks "It's not FL hot here". And if you are not on the beach getting that beach breeze that is the case. The sun seems much more direct and intense in FL. (I do spend a lot of time in the FL Panhandle in summer and fall.) This past summer was brutal by our standards. Lots of heat and humidity. When I was at the Gulf it was actually cooler but I was on the beach. Just a short drive inland and that changed real quick.

The summer here is not that bad. Temperatures be in the 80's to mid 90's, on rare occassions reach near 100 degrees. The humidity isn't much of a problem, but usually feels like the oven outside. Sometimes the mountains/foothills help reduce the heat and humidity though.

Much more temperate here. The max high temperatures aren't that much lower (low 100's), but there are far fewer of them here than in FL. We usually have very few days each year that top 100, even fewer (if any) if you live up on one of the mountains.

If you live right at the coast in Daytona you will notice much less of a breeze here than there.

Humidity will be lower in general here than there.

Humidity is lower, temps are lower but, as others have mentioned, last summer was absolutely brutal. I don't ever remember it being as hot as that before. It was over 100 every day for about a month and a lot of my landscape plants, ones that had been established for years, died.

Absolutely. It was miserable. Lots of our plants died too, and I was trying to water every other day.

I was in Chattanooga in June and while it was extremely hot and was told that it was never that hot usually, I think it was close to 100 everyday that we were there. I didn't find it to be as humid as it is here in Wisconsin during the summer.
