There is a very nice positive article in todays Sunday newspaper about the college volunteers who are in town working on the mountain hiking trail during their spring break. The CT or Cumberland trail or Great Eastern is a 305 mile linear state park in Tenn running on top of Walden ridge from Chattanooga N.E. LINK
CTC's Tennessee Hiking Guide to the Cumberland Trail With Maps/Pics Different sections have been built near towns, for day use, while connecting sections for thru hikers still need to be built. Larger creek bridges have been erected in past.
Some church camps (Along our cove), or private homes are used during the week as northern college students volunteer their labor during spring break or even summer vacation. . I believe I saw some some of the group in church last Wednesday morning for ash wed , on their day off.
