Hi there, new back in Chatt, and just getting everything all hooked up, and dont know what the deal is, but I am only getting 1.5 mPs on the Comcast Modem. I have one of the introductory packages, with 2 HD-DVR's, and this internet is Soooooo slow, I havent tried Netflix yet, but YouTube videos filmed with any type real camera have soo much buffering, its literally watch 5 seconds, let if buffer 5 seconds. I got a disc with the setup to install the Comcast home page/E-mails, but when I try to run it, its says that I dont have the correct operating system, ie Windows 7 or Vista... When I go into computer properties, it says Windows 7 Home Premium, and running an AMD Athlon IIx2 215 Processor with 2.70 Ghz, and 3.75 GB of usable memory and a 64 bit operating system. What gives, I am not a computer techie, but would like to run faster, even if it means going/paying more for power boost. I came from Huntsville, and with Knology, we had upgraded to I think either 10 or 12 mPs so that we could stream Netflix wireless to the BD harddrive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Wish we could get Fios here at the apartment complex, but not yet. D

the only time i have issues with comcast is during the rain. i have a couple of laptops and ever so often they will have issues getting online. I am running netflix thru my wii, my son can be online on his xbox, i have the internet always running on a tower and running a laptop and everything seems super fast. It's all running wireless thru an intellinet router. I'd call comcast and have them check. They can do it over the phone. It maybe a bad modem.

don't have comcast but do have EPB fiber and we have blazing hot speeds and almost no dropped internet for a great price with home phone service it is about $80 a month.

download speed right at 45Mbps upload speed 24Mbps

comcast only has speeds up to 24Mbps for $40 a month no phone half the speed of Fiber.

you can get the cheaper Fiber for $58 a month and still get around 30Mbps

We are so sick of CC. Yes it's slow. Very slow. I'm finally ready to ditch my 15 year old email address and move to EPB.

One note is that EPB guarantees their speed minimum at all times (and often exceeds the speed class), whereas Comcast notes in their literature that the speeds fluctuate due to load etc. When we had Comcast we never really achieved the speed that they advertised and customer service was very difficult.

Here is my speedtest.net result from today -- it is basically the best in the country. The TV and phone package is similar to Comcast (although not as much on-demand free stuff, but the DVRs are better) and the phone is fine. I don't really understand why people are still on Comcast. http://www.speedtest.net/result/1655931465.png

eh, I'm on comcast because ours is a TV/movie house more than an internet What we need the internet for, we do fine. I've never even had issues with the xbox gaming online, the wii, or netflix.
Plus, EPB just quite doesn't have the on demand I get with comcast. When they do and can still stay in the price range they are in, i'll be heading there way. Right now, I would be paying a little more for EPB and getting less.
