Hello!

My boyfriend is looking to move from AZ to Chattanooga. He is a cyclist and bikes to a lot of places -- such as to pick up groceries or just around.

I'm looking for areas that would be best for this type of thing. He's looking for an apartment -- preferably not in a complex. I'm not asking anyone to do the apartment shopping for us, just wanting to know when I look at all these ads -- which area should I focus on? I'm, unfortunately, not that familiar with the area to know the "good" areas from the "bad." Some place that's nicely planned out and/or scenic that has lots of areas nearby that would be cool to visit and easy to get to by bike. He does own a car, but prefers cycling when possible. Looking for an area that may has different bike trails, easy access to a nice grocery store that isn't a Kroger or Wal-Mart (if possible, but not completely necessary) and if it's near to a Starbucks or coffee house so he could get out of the house for some work, that would be wonderful.

If it helps, I currently live in Jackson, TN. I don't know why that might help, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Also, any word on if Chat will be getting a Trader Joe's anytime soon?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Most of my "Commuter" Bike friends live in N Chatt or the Southside in Downtown Chattanooga. There only grocery he could bike to from those locations is a Whole Foods on the North Shore. The Southside is slated to get an Enzo's but no Trader Joes. http://www.nooga.com/155362/updated-...-to-southside/
