okay ... car wasn't starting , ( car still has old original parts that were there when i bought it) found out my alternator pigtail (clamp) had broken ... stuck it back on ... went and bought a new battery ( what i could afford, Econocraft battery) car started right up ... let me drive all that day for about 6-7 hours . car wouldn't start. put my dads duracell battery in and car started up ... they say my battery wasn't charged jumped it ... car started fine.. died down again ... went and bought another alternator ( no pigtail tho) finally went and bought a pigtail for the alternator ( and before had the alternator tested , it tested good) ... guy at autozone told me to bring my new battery down , tested it ... had a bad cell ... warranty got me another one. put it in ...car started fine drove around the block and the (battery) alternator light came on ... still let me drive home with no problems . shut if off ... wouldn't start up...(unplugged the batter and removed it that night) called autozone said it might be my starter... went and got a starter put it in , put battery back in car started fine ... 10 ,15, - 20 minutes later it wants to shut off and not start. ( i noticed the lights going dim in the car as well ...) ( also i dont have anything plugged up i unplugged my amp) jumped it from my dads car starts just fine ... cables off ... car dies down... neighbor says it might be my battery again ... guy at autozone said last time it might be my ...... fuel .... something ... i dont remember ... now they're saying i might have a connection or wiring issue ???????????????? help !

We will try to help, but this is the Tennessee sub-forum where we discuss state-related issues. Assuming you actually come back, you'll have much better luck in the Automotive sub-forum: //www.city-data.com/forum/automotive/

Year, make, model would help.

But from what you've said, assuming the new battery and alternator are both good, and assuming this isn't a fuel-related issue, my first guess would be a wiring problem. So I guess I agree with whoever "they" are toward the end of your post. The juice isn't getting from the alternator to the battery. Most likely a broken/corroded wire between the alternator and the battery, or perhaps between the battery and the ground.

For it to be a fuel-related issue, the car would have to turn over continuously without cranking. Does it do that (fuel), or does it not turn over at all (battery/alternator/wiring)?

Good luck!
