Moving to Chattanooga, looking for a realtor (sales, real estate)

I will be relocating to Chattanooga with my family (wife and 15, 5 and 1 year old kids). We want to buy a house before we move, and we are looking for a real estate agency. Our budget is 500-800k. Like many other posters on this board, my wife and I are considering relocating to Chattanooga. We are an older couple with modest financial means who have lived in Peru for the past nine years. For the past several months we’ve been researching Chattanooga, looking at everything from house and auto costs down to shore fishing on the river and everything in between. What we haven’t been able to do is establish a satisfactory contact with a realtor.

For several reasons we have only two weeks in June to visit Chattanooga and look for a house, somewhere in the 125k range before having to fly back to Peru. I have a lot of questions…like how can we maximize a two-week search; can the normal 30 – 45 day buying process be fast tracked somehow?...etc. I don’t know if it’s the modest financial package, or because we can’t get there until June, or maybe because phone communication is not possible, but whatever the reason we’ve not found a realtor who is interested in working with us. What we’ve gotten is either auto responses, or terse one or two sentence replies.

If anyone has any suggestions or knows of a realtor who takes an interest in people as well as sales we’d appreciate hearing from you. Thanks
