My wife and are considering to relocate to the Chattanooga area after we retire. We visited the Chattanooga recently and walked through several houses in Signal Mountain and Soddy Daisy. We found one house in the Montlake area that suits our needs.

Does anyone have feed back on that area for someone new to the area?

Thanks!

Is the home you found close to Montlake Shooting range? It used to be out by it's lonesome, but as time went by homes were built closer and closer. So close that, the residents started to complain about the shooting noise. Never mind that it had been there for ages.

Just looked it up, it's named Montlake Sportsman Club.

Thanks for the feedback. I did check and the area that we are looking at is about 7 minute drive so there is no issue for us.

The more I look at Soddy Daisy the more I like it, so I'm hoping you get more feedback from people from that area too!

Smile Plateau twisty roads

Hello neighbor ,,, We built two houses over 10 year period in Soddy daisy area after retiring here.. The four or five roads that climb up the plateau to signal / Montlake are sort of twisty.. Quite foggy in the winter time. When a tree falls & blocks road in a storm , long detour driving, etc.. larger tracts of acerage for privacy or farming if that is your interest. Many here have about 0.9 acre and can find some wooded Buffer area in rear along TVA or prior Bowater preserve , etc..

My wife and I are also looking in this area and in and around Hixson. The Hixson area appears to be a little lower income than Soddy-Daisy is. Are there particular neighborhoods in Soddy-Daisy that you would recommend for retirees?
